Breaking my #1 RTR with the Rlaarlo SBK10 Stormbreaker

Is the new Rlaarlo SBK10 StormBreaker good, or bad? Well, you know what people say about “opinions”…and this one is mine. Overall, I think this is an excellent buggy, with only a few minor problems. Getting the biggest problem out of the way first, the body design has a serious problem at the from…but, other than that, it reminds me of the Arrma Typhon. In fact, the general shape is very reminiscent of the Typhon…just a slightly scaled-down version.

Several pre-release reviewers indicated the buggy was “slow”…I found it anything but. This is not meant to be a speedrun buggy…it’s meant to be a general bashing buggy, with race capabilities…again, similar to the Arrma Typhon (or, at least, the TLR Edition of the Typhon. I wouldn’t expect it to win many races (and, then again, one never knows)…but, I believe it could “keep up” with your better local club racers (with the right driver).

Remember, it’s NOT just about speed – handling is equally important…and, from what I’ve seen so far, this buggy excels in that area. Is it the best handling 1/10 buggy I’ve ever seen? No. but, it DOES handle extremely well. Quality is typical of Rlaarlo…which means, it’s higher quality than the majority of vehicles coming from the “big names”. And, for the price (again, typical of Rlaarlo), it can’t be beaten. The SBK10 StormBreaker follows in the footsteps of the AK-917, and every Rlaarlo-designed/manufactured RC since. Simply put, when comparing the vehicle type & scale against other manufacturers, it offers the BEST “Bang for the Buck” you can get. And, before anyone says anything about having to say something like that, because I got this RC for free, know that it was not free – as with ALL Rlaarlo RCs I own, every one of them has been paid for with my own money.
