In this video from Dans Automotive Service, we dive into diagnosing and repairing a 2007 Land Rover Freelander 2.2 Diesel with the battery light on, even though the battery and alternator were working fine. If you’re into car repairs, DIY car fixes, car salvage projects, or learning how to repair cars step by step, this video is for you!
When a battery warning light shows but the alternator and battery test okay, the issue can often be hidden in the wiring loom. Using the wiring diagram, we traced the LIN Bus wire from the alternator to the ECU. A continuity test revealed a wiring problem — and sure enough, the alternator plug wiring came away in our hand, completely detached from the loom. After stripping back the fuel filter housing, we repaired and rejoined the wiring, saving the customer from the cost of a new alternator or ECU.
This guide will help anyone struggling with battery warning lights, alternator wiring issues, or Land Rover Freelander repairs. Subscribe to Dans Automotive Service for more DIY car repair tutorials, electrical diagnostics, and step-by-step car fixes that save you time and money.
