In this video, I’m continuing the honing process on my stainless steel straight razor, the Dovo Inox. After setting the bevel in the first video using a 2K Naniwa Arata stone, I’m now refining the edge with a vintage Belgian coticule. I start with a thicker slurry and gradually dilute to water, aiming for a keen edge. If you’re interested in seeing how this natural stone works with stainless steel, stay tuned!

After finishing up with the coticule, I did 100 laps under running water, cleaning the stone every 10 laps, followed by stropping on both linen and leather. The edge gave me mixed results, with HHT4 and sometimes HHT5, which isn’t unusual for a coticule. While I wasn’t completely satisfied, I’m still pleased with how the edge turned out. I think some laps on oil might improve the edge even further—let me know if you've tried that or have any other suggestions!
