Philip R. Clarke:
The Philip R. Clarke was built in 1952 by the American Shipbuilding Company of Lorain, Ohio. The ship was a part of the AAA class and has two other sister ships the Arthur M. Anderson and the Cason J. Callaway. She was built as a straight decker measuring 647 feet in length, 70 feet in width and 36 feet in depth. At this pouint her carrying capacityt was 21,000 tons. In 1974 the ship was lengthened to 767 feet giving her a new carrying capacity of 26,525 tons. In 1982 the vessel was converted into a slef unloader and her cargo capcity was cut to 25,300 tons. The Philip R. Clarke carries Limestone and Iron Ore on the Great Lakes. The Calrke is powered by a Westinghouse Steam Turbine Engine that produces 7,700 SHP.
Maumee:
The barge Maumee was built in 1953 by the Great Lakes engineering works of River Rouge, MI as the bulk carrier Reserve. The ship measured 647 feet in length, 70 feet in width, 36 feet in depth and had a maximum carrying capacity of around 21,000 tons. In 1975 the ship was lengthened 120 feet at Fraser Shipyards in Superior, WI. In 1983 the ship was converted to a self unloader. Later, in 2007, the Reserve was converted to a barge by K&K Integrated Logistics and the Bay Shipbuilding Company. The now newly converted barge was paired with the tug Victory. The barge was previously named James L. Kuber until 2019 when it was renamed Maumee.
Victory:
The tug Victory was built in 1981 by McDermett Shipyards and measures 140 feet in length, 43 feet in width, and 18 feet in depth. The ship has 2 MaK 6MU551AK diesel engines which produce 7,880 bhp each. In 2007 it's lower pilothouse was conveerted into cabins and in 2008 its upper pilothouse was raised.
