In this episode, we take a break from the main story to dive into the Pokéathlon, one of Pokémon HeartGold’s signature side modes. We compete in several athletic events, test our Pokémon’s abilities in a whole new way, and rack up points to trade for useful items.
With the Pokéathlon complete, we continue our journey along the road now cleared of obstacles. Since Sudowoodo has already been dealt with, we push forward past the former roadblock, battling trainers, exploring new areas, and preparing for the next major destination in Johto.
This episode focuses on side content, progression, and setting up the next big chapter of the adventure.
