How can universities and institutions better support women researchers?
While individual efforts are important, lasting change towards gender equity in academia requires collective and strategic action from those in leadership positions. Without a strong institutional commitment, women risk continuing to face barriers to career advancement, increased burnout and limited recognition for their vital work in teaching and research.
In this webinar, ARC Laureate Fellow and lead of the Women in Research initiative, Professor Sharon Parker (Curtin University), will share research evidence on organisational strategies that make a real difference to women’s career experiences in academia. She will be joined by ARC Laureate Fellows Professor Tessa Morris-Suzuki (Australian National University) and Professor Sundhya Pahuja (The University of Melbourne) for a thoughtful conversation on how academic policies, practices and culture can better support women researchers.
Drawing on decades of experience, they will delve into topics such as inclusive leadership, mentorship, fair workload distribution and many more, offering valuable perspectives and practical tools to support women’s success and well-being throughout their academic journeys.
