Tso Kar Lake is not as famous as the other lakes in Ladakh, Pangong & Tso Moriri. But, this is exactly why you should visit it, for that untouched feel, or having arrived at a place where no one has been before. The lake, located in close proximity to Leh-Manali Highway, offers great views, lovely opportunities for photography and a great place to just sit & revel in the surroundings.
The plain area starts after covering around 4 km uphill road from Pang towards Tanglang La pass. The road is mainly on the plain for about 30–35 km, before it again starts to rise to Tanglang La. Flanked by beautiful mountains on both sides, this area is a significant attraction to the Bikers heading towards Leh from Manali. The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) of the Indian Army is now converting the road to two lanes – one in either direction.
