The Open Data Day 2023 fireside chat was organized by ADRH to commemorate Open Data Day, held on March 10th, 2023. The event's theme was "Protecting Data & Opening Data," and we had a distinguished panel of speakers who shared their insights on the importance of open data and the need for its protection in Africa.
Our esteemed speakers included Omar Seidu, Head of Demographic Statistics and Coordinator of Data for SDGs in Ghana, and Al Kags, Project Manager at the Open Institute. Ms. Teki Akuetteh moderated the discussion, encouraging audience participation and guiding the conversation.
During the two-hour event, our speakers discussed the challenges and opportunities that exist in the area of open data, emphasizing its impact on Africa. The event was open to the public via Zoom and live on our social media channels, and we received an overwhelmingly positive response.
We invite you to watch the recording of this enlightening discussion on our YouTube channel and learn more about open data and its impact on Africa. Thank you for your interest in this important topic, and we look forward to your comments and feedback.
