The Union Territory of Puducherry comprises of the erstwhile French colonies viz. Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam. The Puducherry and Karaikal regions are surrounded by the State of Tamilnadu, whereas Mahe is surrounded by the State of Kerala and Yanam by the state of Andhra Pradesh.
Mahé is a small town of the Union Territory of Puducherry. It is situated at the mouth of the Mahé River and is surrounded by the State of Kerala. The Kannur District surrounds Mahé on three sides and Kozhikode District from one side. Mahe is a land titled as the Eye brow of Arabian Sea, which is very small (9 sq. km.) and situated on the estuary of the Mayyazhi river and Arabian Sea.
