Here is another of my archive interviews with celebrities to mark their birthdays. May 9th is the birthday of singer/songwriter and member of The Crickets, Sonny Curtis. He was a teenage friend and band member with Buddy Holly in Lubbock, Texas and they opened for Elvis Presley early in their careers. Notable compositions include "I Fought the Law" and "More Than I Can Say" (co-written with Allison and a hit by Bobby Vee and Leo Sayer). He also played on Eddie Cochran's last recording sessions, including the song "Three Steps to Heaven.
In this excerpt he and the other Crickets start by talking about how the group was formed
