Madras, OR to Antelope, OR on a Triumph Bonneville T120

Today, I'm taking you on a ride through some incredible Oregon high desert. We're kicking things off in Madras after my gas stop and continuing on Highway 97. It’s a pretty straightforward cruise until we hit our turnoff.

Our journey takes a turn onto a quieter, more winding road, leading us to the small, historic town of Antelope, Oregon. This isn't just any small town, though. Antelope has a fascinating and, frankly, wild history. Originally a stagecoach stop, it gained national notoriety in the 1980s when a controversial religious group, the Rajneeshees, effectively took over the town, even renaming it "Rajneeshpuram." This period was marked by significant social and political upheaval, eventually leading to their departure and the town reverting to its original name. It's a place with a quiet present but a very loud past, and we'll explore a bit of that as we wrap up our ride here.
