Day 2 of my Capitol Reef backcountry loop: a 10-mile hike from the Fremont River to Fruita via Grand Wash, Cassidy Arch, Frying Pan Trail, and Cohab Canyon. With an early river crossing, towering canyon walls, and sweeping views, this route stitched together some of the park’s finest trails into a single dramatic loop.
