The R179 is a class of New York City Transit Authority (NYCTA) rolling stock that operates on the B Division of the New York City Subway. A total of 318 cars were built by Bombardier from 2016-2019, entering service in 2017. The fleet was initially plagues with issues - severe enough for the entire fleet to be temporarily removed from service - but has now been operating without issue on multiple Subway services (A/C/J/M/Z/Rockaway S).
