As my friend Alan commented below, he and I collected many of these specimens by kayaking to less accessible areas on Pathfinder Reservoir, which is far enough upstream that the material is of a larger size. He did mention the Miracle Mile, for all of you who go out there fishing! Yes, fill your kayak with iron, and then traverse a large lake in one of the windiest places on earth (Wyoming). It makes for great stories!!!
