'You Know It's Coming, the debut single from musical duo Van Lupo, is a song about mundane urban boredom - about compromise, quiet emptiness, and yearning. Out on Raw Tapes, the track leans heavily on the pensive vocals of Dan Sheinman and the percussive, harmonic groove of Offir Benjaminov's classical guitar to create a tightrope walk between hope and despair.

Van Lupo is the collaborative project of Offir Benjaminov (TATRAN) and Dan Sheinman. In 2021, Dan - a vintner and winemaker - was living in Burgundy, France. Reconnecting with his childhood friend Offir, bassist and producer of the instrumental fusion trio TATRAN, the two began collaborating remotely, trading tracks and lyrics between France and Tel Aviv.

Van Lupo’s debut LP, Devices for Profit or Escape, is a synergetic creation by two longtime friends - yielding a dark, unpredictable, and at times eccentric portrait of the pair. A portrait painted in sound, it ranges from robust baritone vocals backed by rich orchestration to a venomous, fragile cry accentuated by electronic noise and chaos.

Devices for Profit or Escape is out on Raw Tapes—a new chapter in the label’s catalogue of creative, genre-blending artists from around the world.
