Chechnya - Reactions To Lebed Appointment

Chechen rebel spokesman Movladi Udugov said on Tuesday (18/6) the appointment of Alexander Lebed as head of the Russian Security Council was unlikely to change Russia's policy toward breakaway Chechnya. Near the town of Stari Atagi, Chechen fighters lay wounded and house lay smoking after an attack by Russian soldiers Tuesday. Near Vedeno, in southern Chechnya, rebel soldiers showed off their fighting skills.
