(i) Taxi fare after each km: First km = Rs 15, each additional km = Rs 8.

This is an AP with common difference 8.
(ii) Amount of air in a cylinder when 1/4th is removed each time.
Sequence: 1, 3/4, 9/16, …
This is a GP, not an AP.
(iii) Total cost of books: Rs 40 each, plus Rs 2 handling per book.
Cost = 42, 84, 126, …
This is an AP with common difference 42.
(iv) Savings doubling every month: Rs 1000, Rs 2000, Rs 4000, …
This is a GP, not an AP.
