Pedal Pawn have really set a standard for themselves since they released their first pedal, The Texas Twang, a couple of years ago. With an ethos encapsulating Vintage vibe and playability to modern functionality and reliability, it would only be a matter of time before they tackled one of the most polarising vintage guitar effects - Octave Fuzz. Usually, when someone plugs in an octave fuzz to their beautiful, high headroom, pedal platform amplifier for the first time, the leading thought is, "Is this broken?", with the following action including swapping said Octave fuzz for the warmth of their favourite Tube Screamer of the month. But those who persevere find comfort in the gnarliness.

Vintage Octave Fuzzes are by no means easy to play. They like to glitch out, dropping away if you don't give them enough juice and only like certain notes being played together. But the fun lies in its unpredictability. It forces you play notes and chords in a way that you never would have done so, making it an excellent writing tool for lead lines and a great way to keep the music interesting. The Octone is the perfect example of how limitations can produce creativeness.
