Join me on a summer escape from Tokyo.
In the late afternoon, I take a short train ride out of the city and head toward Kamakura, arriving just as the day starts to soften into evening. My first stop is a popular matcha shop near Kamakura Station — perfect for a slow start. From there, I wander through Komachi Street to visit the little Ghibli store filled with cute souvenirs.
As the sun begins to dip, I make my way to Shichirigahama Beach. The waves, the breeze, the soft light — it’s one of those coastal moments that feels both calm and cinematic. After watching the sunset, I continue to Enoshima to soak in the lively night atmosphere, try a soft-serve ice cream, and enjoy the lights and food stalls that brighten the island after dark.
