The digital age has accelerated innovation and economic growth, but it has also expanded the threat landscape in ways that challenge national and global security. From ransomware and cyber-espionage to critical infrastructure attacks and disinformation campaigns, today’s cyber threats are sophisticated, fast-moving, and borderless.
According to ISC² (2024), the global cybersecurity workforce stands at approximately 5.5 million professionals - yet the world still faces a 4.8 million talent shortfall. Nearly 47% of cyber roles remain unfilled, leaving nations vulnerable and undermining the resilience of government institutions, businesses, and critical infrastructure. This is no longer a workforce issue; it is a national security imperative.
The International Centre for Policing and Security, University of South Wales, is organised a high-level webinar to examine this challenge. This is the recording of the event.
