Why the US Tried To NUKE the Moon

Yes, despite how insane it may sound, the United States did at one point in time consider sending a nuclear bomb to be detonated on the moon. While it was included in the Atoms for Peace movement, with promises of geological surveys of the lunar surface, to truly understand why it was considered, we have to look at the Cold War.

This is the second video in my series about the Atoms for Peace movement, a time when the peaceful utility of a nuclear blast was being explored.
