🥠 Crispy Butter Cookies Recipe
Ingredients:
200g unsalted butter (softened, room temp)
100g powdered sugar (icing sugar)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg yolk (room temp)
220g all-purpose flour (sifted)
20g cornstarch (for extra crispiness)
Pinch of salt
Instructions:
1. Cream the butter & sugar
In a large bowl, beat 200g softened butter with 100g powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
2. Add egg yolk & vanilla
Mix in 1 egg yolk and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract until smooth.
3. Mix in dry ingredients
Sift together 220g all-purpose flour, 20g cornstarch, and a pinch of salt.
Gradually add into the butter mixture. Stir until a soft dough forms.
4. Shape the cookies
Transfer dough to a piping bag with a star tip (or shape by hand).
Pipe/swirl onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
5. Chill (optional but recommended)
Refrigerate the tray for 20–30 minutes to help cookies hold shape.
6. Bake
Preheat oven to 170°C (340°F).
Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until edges turn golden.
7. Cool & enjoy
