An extraordinary film, a unique work of art, about music, art & Comedy.

Danish artist Hamlet Jensen has released a 10-minute teaser trailer for his 2026 feature film "MADHOUSE," which will be released in two parts, and the series in seven parts, which will total over five hours.


MADHOUSE is a refreshingly mischievous and politically incorrect, partly surrealistic, German glamourous, dramedy, non stop music & trash feature film about Musik, Art & Comedy with a touch of dukumentary.


Jensen has said that the entire film is an “unique film work of art” something to be felt not understood.


The scenes plays in a 400 qm loft, an erotic play and dance club (Grande Opera in Offenbach) , as well as an art house and a car ride around the world in a run-down matte black unprofessionally sprayed US car from 1952 with bullet holes.


The focus is on bandleader Ras of the EBM-industrial cult band C.C.C.P. , which enjoyed worldwide chart success and gold/platinum records in the 1980s.


He also features his artist friends (painters, sculptors, musicians, performers, writers, fashion designers, celebrity chefs, etc.), his girlfriend Suzi Wong from Hong Kong, and his muse Lilith, who, although a revolutionary and art student, is not Adam's first wife 😉


This feature film was created solely from an idea by Hamlet Jensen, without a script.


Since the director works almost exclusively with extras and wants the film to appear as natural as possible.


The music for the film was produced by Hamlet Jensen during the initial conception of the film, before it was shot.


The entire film took five years to create and involved six people:
Three Musicians (Hamlet Jensen, Frank Schendler, and Charles Scipio),
four Cinematographer (Hamlet Jensen, Ingrid Schäflein, Manuel Waelder and Frank Schendler), Two Boom Man (Ridouan Labyad and Hamlet Jensen) and two Editors
(Hamlet Jensen and Frank Schendler).


The main actors are Suzie Wong (Graphic designer) aka Yan Rechtmann/Luna No/Zitronella (Total artist) in a double role, Lilith (Art enthusiast and muse of Ras), Aurelio (Lover of Lilith), Isabelle (Postwoman).

In the film “MADHOUSE,” none of the characters who appear and speak behave like actors, and they did not have to memorize a script.


There were only predetermined themes.


Everything is free and natural.


Even the two professional actors were only allowed to play themselves.


The other characters were all amateurs.


Some of them even played their roles better than trained actors.


The language is different, of course, but it is authentic and natural.


The camera is the star.


She flies back and forth between the characters and sometimes she just stands completely still like in a one-shot movie or some live music recordings made with a smartphone.


For example, she storms into the Montez Art Association and jumps out again and hangs onto a bicycle.


The actors are more like extras in this athletic act of unleashing.


Despite all the small defects, this is great cinema (and this is also possible in a feature film that was partly shot as a one-shot film and partly has a documentary character & is of course trash).


It is the many small ideas, including the setting and the birds of paradise, that make this one feel theatrical music/art/comedy feature film and the music (non-stop) enchants you.
