Derek DeBellis, lead investigator for DORA, joins the DORA Community for a discussion about trunk-based development.
Trunk-based development is the practice of making small, frequent changes that are regularly merged into the main code branch of the version control system. DORA has investigated this capability for many years. In 2023, we found a number of very interesting things. For example, we see that teams who leverage this capability tend to take a more user-centric approach and see increases in both software delivery performance and burnout. Some of these findings are surprising! We gathered to reveiw the findings and have a discussion with the community.
