50 years in America from the lens of a first gen, eldest Hmong daughter. ❤
I grew up greatly shaped by my father's stories of Laos and the war. That is perhaps where my love for our people stems from. And even though I spent my life trying to understand my father's Hmong experience, I am still navigating it because the experience of their generation holds a weight that none of us can fathom. I hope one day soon, he will be brave enough to allow me to share his stories because as we are also history in the making, history is also passing us by. And I hope we will be able to hold as much of it to share with future generations to come.
