Here's a full tutorial on how to build a bait tank for your kayak using a vittles vault food container. I tried my best to keep the video short and touch on all important steps but if you want to see just the finished product, skip to the end
CHECK VALVE: By far the most frustrating part of this whole project. Check valves are either too big or too small. Some have springs that require a good amount of pressure to operate. The one I used is entirely plastic eliminating the risk of the spring corroding in salt water and doesn't require any pressure to operate. It has a plastic float and small in size and works excellent

Parts List:
Tsunami T500 Aerator Kit
Vittles Vault 40lb food container
2x 3/4" Hose Barb
3/4" female to female pvc threaded coupler
Primer Bulb
3/4 one way check valve: https://amzn.to/2znj5HO
6 hose clamps
6v 10ah Battery: 6v will reduce the pressure going into the tank. 12v will pump too much water for this size tank, resulting in dead bait
Accessories: Totally personal preference. J hooks, rod holders, handles are all up to your fishing style. I plan on placing two rod holders on the tank because I don't take more than 3 rods on a fishing trip. Some guys put 4 rod holders. If you go the 4 rod holder route, be sure to get a set that is no more than 12 inches wide or it will be too wide for the bait tank. I am going with two single tube style rod holders for my tank.
