We spent the day in North Tetagouche, New Brunswick with our good friend Robin LeBlanc of La Famille LeBlanc! Our friends Claude Austin and his wife Raymonde too! And we found out that Raymonde’s dad is the excellent mandolin player Gérald Fournier. I love his mandolin playing and he has a nice version of this tune, “Reel à P’tit Georges”, which is a popular Acadian tune in the region. Gérald learned the tune from Claude since he used to accompany Claude for quadrille dancing. Claude says the tune comes from Acadian New Brunswick fiddler Georges Comeau. It’s an incredible tune! I did it for Tune of the Week about a year ago and have been playing it for contra dances in the NW! Thanks Robin for taking this video!
