We take you with us on the cable cars all the way up to the world famous Kitzsteinhorn. This mountain peak is a glacier, however, super easily accessible, thus this alpine experience is a very popular tourist attraction.

The first gondola “Gipfeljet” takes us from 1,976 meters up to 2,452 meters. Even though Austria is known for a very modern and high-end infrastructure even in the mountains, this gondola is still a traditional one, idyllic and one of its kind.

The second cable car is the “Gletscherbahn” which takes you all the way up to the Kitzsteinhorn at 3,029 meters – as it is the highest point from all of Salzburg this is also known as “Top of Salzburg”.

Up there you can see peaks of the Hohe Tauern National Park and Austria's highest mountain, the Grossglockner, peeks at eye level. Austria's mightiest mountains are at your fingertips here. Our visit was in September, thus a time where ice/snow is only at the highest peaks.
