Harpsichordist Rebecca Pechefsky of Brooklyn Baroque performs the Overture that opens the "Overture in the French Style" (1741) by Johann Ludwig Krebs (1713-1780), J. S. Bach's star pupil. Krebs's overture-suite was plainly a response to Bach's own "Overture in the French Manner," a large-scale keyboard suite published in 1735. This video marks the first collaboration between Quill Classics and Overtone Films, LLC, which specializes in classical music films. For more information on the performer, visit rebeccapechefsky.com.
