Jamiroquai - Cloud 9 (Fred Falke / Purple Disco Machine Remixes) Virgin EMI

Jamiroquai drop their latest single 'Cloud 9' from their hotly anticipated new album 'Automaton'. This time round Fred Falke and Purple Disco Machine get the remixes.

Following on from the lead single 'Automaton' it's time for some more new Jamiroquai fire. The Grammy wining band looks to be on top form with the release of this second track from the album, sounding slick and funky. This time following the enlisting of Deetron for the remix of 'Automaton' they guys have picked Defected regular Purple Disco Machine and French house producer Fred Falke who returns for his fourth remix of Jay Kay and his Jamiroquai band.

The original mix is a cool, slung groove number that's laden with funky guitars and slick bass melodies. Purple Disco Machine takes things on a disco house journey plying Philly strings, bubbling bass lines and classic 4/4 drum sequences. Fred Falke's remix is a cosmic synth journey built on steady drums, low-slung bass lines and Jay's vocal sits upright on top of the great relaxed house groove.
