YGE ESC stutters Xnova motor

I am trying to figure out why the motor is stuttering instead of spinning like it should.


I am setting up my very first YGE ESC. YGE Saphir 155, 7S LiPo, Xnova 4025-1120kv Lightning motor, Neo VLink, VBC Touch radio. I set the governor on the radio to the YGE gov. I set the gov on the YGE to Gov Store. The motor just stutters on "Motor ON" at any throttle (75%, 85%, 65%, etc.). I did not perform a mode setup as it is my understanding that mode setup is not done when using the VBar Control Touch radio.

I found the culprit. I cut the motor wires shorter for better wire management. However, I did not consider the motor wires are coated with enamel, which basically meant the wires were not making proper contact with the soldered connectors and therefore the ESC. I discussed this issue with Xnova. Since I messed up the motor wires by cutting them too short, this is not covered by the warranty. BK Hobbies gave me a 20% discount on a new motor. Someone on HeliFreak purchased my messed up motor after full disclosure of what happened.
