Hespèrion XXI ensemble and its founder Jordi Savall in a brilliant moment of interpretation of the "Couplets des Folies d’Espagne", a set of variations composed by Marin Marais (1656–1728), a French Baroque composer and master of the viola da gamba. Based on the popular Iberian theme "La Folia", Marais composed 32 variations for solo viola da gamba and basso continuo.
