Replacing an Intake Manifold - Craftsman 6.5hp

A customer brought this machine to us after the bracket that holds the carburetor into place came loose. We cleaned the carb, tightened up the bolts on the bracket (not realizing the intake manifold had cracked) & tried to start the mower.

It wouldn't start, even with a cleaned carb, but when we sprayed carb cleaner directly into the cylinder it fired right up!

This meant that we weren't getting fuel from the carb to the engine, so we dissembled it & upon closer inspection, we found out that the intake manifold was cracked.

After a quick disassembly of the lawnmower housing, we replaced the broken part with a P.# 794305 Intake Manifold & we were good to go!
