Local Walk with Surprise DEER encounter | Nature Diary | Wildlife Photography

Weather, life, a dirty sensor, and a little bit of demotivation meant I haven't been out for a proper photography session for a good few days, but sensor cleaned and a sunny (but chilly!) morning and I was determined to get myself out for a walk!

A parcel delivery was thwarting my plans for a trip further afield but I just had enough time to squeeze a wander round the fields and woods in the village.

I soon spotted some redwing in the churchyard and some fieldfares in a distant hedge line but nothing prepared me for when, just a few metres away, five little roe deer faces popped up from the undergrowth, followed quickly by five little white bottoms as they legged it into the middle of the field! I had just enough time left before I had to get home to watch them for a few minutes and to grab some shots. Absolutely brilliant and motivation has returned!
