EAGLE BLUFFS Camping & Backpacking GUIDE | BEST SUNSET HIKE?

We did sunset hike and backpacking to Eagle Bluffs on Cypress Mountain in Vancouver. Eagle Bluffs is the best sunset camping hike in my opinion!

Eagle Bluffs is a moderate hike that with great views. After an initial steep climb alongside the ski slopes of Cypress Mountain Resort, this hike continues to subalpine lakes and along ridges to Eagle Bluff. There, it overlooks Lighthouse Park, Horseshoe Bay, and Point Grey. There is fresh water available near the trailhead, but not along the route.

Initially a steep and rocky start, leading to a more pleasant hike with stunning views at the top. Summer conditions include smoke and haze, with occasional bugs and beautiful views. The trail usually has steep sections and rocky paths in August, with some root-filled areas. Swimming in Cabin Lake is recommended. The trail can be crowded but is well-marked and offers a rewarding view.

Things to know before hiking and camping:

Trail details: 7.9 km, 437 m elevation gain, 3 hours total time.
It's not an official campsite, and there are no washrooms
Park overnight at 3B parking lot (FREE)
Water Station available at Cypress Lodge
Limited spots to camp so go early (although not many people camp up here...)
Cell phone network available at the top of Eagle Bluffs
You can get into the Cabin lake on the way back from the hike
You get beautiful sunset views of Howe Sound
Beautiful eagles and ravens can be spotted
It can get windy up there so carry layers
