U.S. Army Paratroopers assigned to the 173rd Airborne Brigade, based in Vicenza conduct an airborne operation C17 Globemaster III Aircraft onto Hohenfels Drop Zone, Bavaria, Germany and conducted days of battlefield maneuvres as part of Exercise Saber Junction 22. Supporting them the Italian 4th Tank Regiment, Bersaglieri Brigade "Garibaldi" and their C1 Ariete Main Battle Tanks.
An opposing force of United States Army infantry, North Macedonian soldiers and Lithuanian soldiers were their to challenge the readiness of the U.S. Army's 173rd Airborne Brigade and Italian Garibaldi Brigade to execute unified land operations in a joint, combined environment, and to promote interoperability with more than 4,500 participants from the U.S. and Allied and partner nations at the U.S. Army's Grafenwoehr and Hohenfels training area.
