Rajinder Gupta, the Chairman of Trident Group, rose from humble beginnings as the son of a cotton dealer in Punjab. Forced to drop out of school at 14, he began his business journey as a small cotton trader, facing initial hardships. He took odd jobs like making candles and cement pipes to make ends meet.

In the 1980s, Gupta took a significant risk by establishing a fertilizer factory, Abhishek Industries, with an initial investment of Rs 6.5 crore. This venture laid the foundation for his success. Subsequently, in 1991, he established the profitable joint venture, Katai Mill.

Venturing into textiles, paper, and chemical industries, Gupta expanded his business empire, opening units in Punjab and Madhya Pradesh. Trident Group, under his leadership, also secured partnerships with retail giants like JCPenney, Walmart, and Luxury and Linen.

Despite building a massive business group, Gupta resigned from the Board of Directors of Trident in 2022 due to personal reasons. However, he continues to serve as the Chairman of Trident Limited, the flagship company of the Trident Group. Recognized for his achievements, Gupta was awarded the Padma Shri in 2007.

Today, Gupta's total wealth exceeds Rs 12,368 crore, making him a billionaire with a remarkable rags-to-riches story that inspires millions of young entrepreneurs. His journey exemplifies perseverance, risk-taking, and entrepreneurial spirit.
