White water rafting at Athabasca river | Must do activity in Jasper, Alberta | Maligne Adventures

White water rafting at the Athabasca river should be high your list when you visit Jasper, Alberta. We booked the fun rafting through a company called Maligne Adventures who happen to have great reviews on trip advisor. We did this during the summer of 2020 and the fees at he time was 99$ + tax for anyone older than 16. Between ages 5-15 it's only 49.99$.

There are several levels to choose from and all depends on your prior experience. Since we had our daughter with us, we chose the level 2 which was good for kids and beginners like us.

You have to meet the tour company in the parking lot right across the Shell Gas station located on Connaught Drive. You are required to arrive at least 15 minutes early so that you can complete the waiver.

you are then whisked away on the bus along the Icefield Parkway. The company will provide you with raft, paddles, wetsuits, booties, paddle jackets, life jackets and helmets. You are required to dress appropriately. The staff at the Maligne Adventures are very friendly and they will go through all the rules and regulations during the 25 minutes bus ride to Athabasca Falls.

The fun really begins when you hit your first rapids and there will be numerous rapids along the way.
