A Cloud Access Security Broker, or CASB, is a software platform that monitors traffic between a cloud service provider and your end users and enforces security measures that you choose. The right CASB can help you take a “people-centric” approach to IT security by protecting you from attacks that target human vulnerabilities.

First, CASB can help uncover and manage shadow IT. These are the cloud apps and services that your IT department own, and may not even know about.
