P3 DON'T MISS YOUR MIRACLE | SEE YOUR SITUATION LIKE GOD SEES IT
Finding Light in Darkness: Lessons from Jesus Healing the Blind Man explores the powerful story from John 9 where Jesus transforms a man's life by giving him sight. This message unpacks what spiritual blindness looks like in our everyday lives—how we stumble through life disoriented, unable to find direction or overcome obstacles to spiritual growth. Learn how Jesus, the Light of the World, brings illumination to our darkness not through religious rules but through His transforming grace. Discover the significance of becoming 'sent ones' who reflect Christ's light to others in a dark world. This teaching explains why simple personal testimony—'I was blind but now I see'—remains our most powerful witness in a skeptical world. If you're struggling to find direction, purpose, or spiritual growth in your life, this message offers biblical insights on moving from darkness to light. Perfect for anyone feeling lost, questioning their faith journey, or wanting to make a greater impact with their Christian witness. Explore practical applications for reflecting Christ's light effectively in your relationships, workplace, and community. Christian living, spiritual growth, overcoming darkness, finding purpose, sharing faith, personal testimony, biblical teaching, John 9, Jesus miracles, spiritual blindness, light of the world, grace not works, reflecting Christ.
John 9:1-11 (NIV2011)
1 As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth.
2 His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”3 “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him. 4 As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. 5 While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
6 After saying this, he spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man’s eyes.7 “Go,” he told him, “wash in the Pool of Siloam” (this word means “Sent”). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing.
8 His neighbors and those who had formerly seen him begging asked, “Isn’t this the same man who used to sit and beg?” 9 Some claimed that he was. Others said, “No, he only looks like him.” But he himself insisted, “I am the man.”10 “How then were your eyes opened?” they asked.11 He replied, “The man they call Jesus made some mud and put it on my eyes. He told me to go to Siloam and wash. So I went and washed, and then I could see.”
John 20:30-31 (NIV2011)
30 Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. 31 But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
Before meeting Jesus, this man lived in darkness
Example: Power Outage
2 Corinthians 4:4 (NIV2011)
4 The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
Before we meet Jesus, we live in spiritual darkness
Jesus is the light
John 8:12 (NIV2011)
12 When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
This man was restored by grace, not works
John 9:13-16 (NIV2011)
13 They brought to the Pharisees the man who had been blind. 14 Now the day on which Jesus had made the mud and opened the man’s eyes was a Sabbath. 15 Therefore the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. “He put mud on my eyes,” the man replied, “and I washed, and now I see.” 16 Some of the Pharisees said, “This man is not from God, for he does not keep the Sabbath.” But others asked, “How can a sinner perform such signs?” So they were divided.
Ephesians 2:8-9 (NIV2011)
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.
James 2:10 (NIV2011)
10 For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.
John 9:4-5
4 As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. 5 While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
This man reflected the light of Christ in his world
John 9:7 (NIV2011)
7 “Go,” he told him, “wash in the Pool of Siloam” (this word means “Sent”). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing.
