A little A/B comparison - which guitar do you prefer? Drop your favourite in the comments
I've got 2 Gibson ES guitars right now and I've put together a blind listening test. I won't yet reveal which guitar is which in the video.
But for the discussion One of the guitars is an 2002 ES-333 that I bought back in 2004 for a mere $700. It was very much Gibson's "budget" guitar But it has been upgraded with some very fancy Ron Ellis Signature pickups.
The other Guitar is a Gibson Custom Shop ES-335, 1959 reissue. A pretty valuable guitar. But the pickups are just '57 Classics (which are good, but nothing fancy).
So it's a bit of a battle between cheaper guitar with expensive boutique pickups, vs expensive guitar with pretty standard pickups.
Can you hear a difference? Which do you prefer? I've made it a blind listening test first and I'll reveal the guitars in a few days.
