We rode our luck pretty hard in this light wind edition of the highly coveted Sandy Shell to take the win by the narrowest of margins.
As always, the Hayling Island Sailing Club RS 200 club championships, the 'Sandy Shell' saw an elite field, with one ex- RS 200 National Champion (Lee Sydenham) and one multiple RS 200 (and the reigning) National Champion, James Peters (plus he's a pretty decent 49er helm too!).
This video has extended breakdown of race one, then highlights of the final three races. In the end, a fortunate recovery in race three from 8th to 3rd on the final lap, plus a dubious light wind win in the final race saw us take the trophy. The lead was tied on equal points, tied on countback, and eventually split in our favour based on position in the last race.
