comparing the beach breakfast buffet SeaCret right next to beach sands in southern part of Katathni vs the slightly larger breakfast buffet Chom Talay with ocean views about 100 feet from the beach the in northern part of Kathani -both restaurants have custom cappucinos, espressos, fresh tea,
Western & Asian foods with 30-50+ hot entrees w/ fresh custom made to order omelette station full of everything you want,
eggs benedict,
noodle/Pho station,
various meats like crispy or soft bacon, sausage, ham, pasta,
German soft pretzel rolls, crepes, fresh tropical fruits of longan, guava, rambutan, (also lychee & mango depending on season),
&
snorkeling, beautiful sunset views with live music,
& semi-private beach with snorkeling at southern & northern ends, beautiful flower gardens & fountains throughout, especially the northern end north of Chom Talay - I recommend the Thani wing for ocean views for romance -- or for families with children, recommend the Bhuri wing rooms for swim-up pools next to children's pool/children's water park and slides.

2) BEST Time to go is November to April -when it almost never rains during daytime and even when it does, it's warm refreshing rain and lasts only 30 mins to 1 hour and goes back to being sunny or partially sunny rest of the day -the 2 rainy months to avoid is September and October

3) Price range:
Note that like most 5-star ocean front resorts, prices double during the peak weeks around holidays, and Christmas through January and Valentine's Day week. Simliar 5-star ocean front resorts in Hawaii, Caribbean, Cancun, Miami Beach, Bali, Phillipines cost $300-$500 /night but

starts at just $130+ /night (for Thani wing ocean view rooms) to $90+/night for garden view Bhuri wing garden view for 2 people with complimentary breakfast buffets at 2 breakfast restaurants, and kids under 12 stay free.

I recommend spending the extra $20-$30/night for ocean view Thani wing over the garden view Bhuri wing because you'll make amazing unforgettable memories drinking & eating watching the oceanview sunsets from your balcony & bed and sleeping to & waking up to the calming sounds of ocean waves crashing next to you.

If you want the double size Ocean Front ocean view Suites with jacuzzi, it starts at $150+/night

Even better, The Shore At Katahani is the sister resort of Katathani with detached private villas with private infiinity pools southern section of Katathani -great for anniversaries, honeymoons -guests at The Shore at Katathani can eat and use all the amenities at Katathani also -it's usually double the price of Katathani and worth it for special romantic occasions -- $250-$400+ /night
