We found this recording recently and realised it was one the first things we ever recorded back in 2016.
“Trinity”, collected by Gurdjieff.
Gurdjieff was a Russian philosopher born in the 1870’s in Alexandropol, now part of Armenia. He travelled the world in search for knowledge of all kinds that would help him become a stronger man by perfecting the ‘Law of Three’ - Three forces which are ‘Neutralising’, ‘Active’ and ‘Passive’ . He travelled extensively around the East and Middle East, mainly to monasteries, though he wasn’t particularly religious. During these travels he collected much music from these remote parts of the world, many inaccessible except by foot or donkey. “Trinity” is one of those pieces he collected which symbolised a particularly important part of his life.
