Steam-Powered Freight Train & Reading FP7As at Woodstown Central

On Saturday September 20th, 2025, Woodstown Central Railroad hosted First Responders Day. In addition to a few fire trucks and other EMS equipment on display and reduced ticket prices for First Responders, the railroad also operated two different trips, including a Steam powered photo freight to Swedesboro with recently repaired 0-6-0 number 9, and passenger trains to Mannington powered by their sharp pair of repainted Reading Company FP7As. This was also the first weekend in passenger service for RDG 903 since its restoration to operating condition. With a beautiful day on tap and some cool railroad action to take in, my friend Sheldon and I made a day of it. This was also our first time catching any trains on the portion of the Salem Branch between South Woodstown and Mannington, making for a great time railfanning South Jersey's newest tourist railroad.
