LAP-X - Appendectomy

LAP-X is an innovative and powerful laparoscopic simulator for all minimally invasive surgery specialties, including but not limited to general surgery, gynecology, urology, gastro-intestinal surgery and pediatric surgery.

This is the exercise "Appendectomy" in the Procedural Modules curriculum of the LAP-X.

Task description:
1. Identifying the appendix.
2. Identifying the base of appendix.
3. Remove the connecting tissue.
4. Stapling across base of appendix.
5. Removal from abdomen

Training goals:
Ambidexterity
Hand-eye coordination
The ability to hold one instrument in the same position while operating with the other
Basic knowledge of appendectomy

90 seconds
