2025 MINI Cooper JCW review! In this video, I'll talk about what the new MINI Cooper is, how I feel about the interior space, and what it's like to drive it!

2025 marks a debut of a fourth generation MINI Cooper Hatch called F66. While it looks like a new model inside and out, it is a heavily based on the previous generation.

That means the Cooper still sits on BMW’s UKL1 platform and features a strut front suspension and a multilink setup in the back, combined with either regular, passive dampers or adaptive ones, depending on the trim.

Under the hood, we’ll always find a B48 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder, which makes 161 hp in the Cooper Variant, 201 hp in the Cooper S, and 228 hp in the top John Cooper Works that we have today.

MINI also offers a fully electric variant built on a dedicated EV platform, a Cooper E, Cooper SE, JCW Electric, which respectively offer 181, 215, and 255 horsepower. But MINI hasn’t confirmed yet if they’re coming to the US.

But, back to the gas-powered Cooper. Unfortunately, a 6-speed manual transmission is gone, even in the JCW and we only get a 7-speed dual-clutch, which obviously transfers the power to front wheels only and we have an open diff.

Pricing starts at around $29,000 for the base Cooper, $32,000 for the Cooper S and tops at a little over $43,000 for our loaded John Cooper Works.

Other hot hatches to consider are a VW Golf GTI, Honda Civic Type R, VW Golf R, Hyundai Veloster N, Ford Fiesta ST, Audi S3, or a Fiat 500 Abarth.
