To be frigging honest I'm very impressed by this relatively underpowered car, but having a great transmission with properly chosen gear ratios, not too long yet not too short, maximising acceleration.
It's true that this engine feels like having greater restrictivity than the 1.5 Diesel from the previous generation, but this car already has over 100.000 miles (180.000 km), probably being just a turbo issue (yet it still accelerates pretty much as great as it can, except at high rpm).
This car feels significantly heavier than it actually is, feeling premium enough also, yet it feels nimble enough, no problem with that.
Feels like a really solid car, at least the suspensions feeling beefed up.
Several years ago I rode a Nissan Quashqai 1.3 tCe and that thing also felt very strong, actually feeling much stronger than the much powerful 1.6 turbo from Astra, mheh (not just because of the car being much lighter, the frigging Opel turbo petrol engine having bad catalytic converter, and the original air filter is too restrictive, one simple rectangular sports filter making a very significant difference, boost kicking in much more right in that Astra J).
