Nigel Westlake's Antarctica - Suite for Guitar and Orchestra, Movement 2: Wooden Ships
Performed by the National Capital Orchestra with Soloist Matt Withers, Conducted by Leonard Weiss, Concertmaster Therese McMahon.
The score was originally composed for the 1991 Imax movie, Antarctica and later worked into a guitar concerto for John Williams & the TSO.
Nigel Westlake is one of Australia's most prolific composers, perhaps best know for his film scores including Babe, Miss Potter and Antarctica. His works have been widely performed and he has received numerous accolades including an honorary Doctorate in Music, awarded by the University of New South Wales.
