Early Friday morning, I hopped the train from Philly to New York to meet Travis, the owner and operator of Human Head Records, just across the bridge in Brooklyn.
Travis was kind enough to let me pick his brain about the business—how he somehow wrangles records from every corner of the globe, the bottomless music culture that New York spills onto your lap, and a few of his personal favorite records. One of those “favorites,” after some shameless pleading, I managed to pry from his hands and smuggle home into my own collection. Any guess as to which one it was?
